Traffic Lights

“RED” means COMPULSORY HALT. Wait behind the queue.

“RED” and “YELLOW” means also COMPULSORY HALT. Do not move until green comes ON.

“GREEN” means you may PROCEED if the road is free. Take special care if you are taking a turn or bend.

“YELLOW” means HALT ON THE LINE. You may proceed if the YELLOW came on when you had already crossed the line or you are so close to it that, if you stop you may cause an accident.

When the YELLOW is on and off continuously it means drive with care because the road junction is not considered to be controlled by traffic lights. In such circumstances the person approaching from the right has priority of passage, unless a uniformed police officer is in control of traffic.

“GREEN ARROW” means that you may proceed IN THE DIRECTION indicated by the arrow irrespective of the showing of the other lights.
